Do the values of our company align with what you view as important?
The interviewer is looking for evidence that you have researched the hiring company before your interview. They also want to see a strong alignment between the companys values and yours. The goal of your response is to show that you have spent time getting to know the companys values then make a clear connection between those values and how you operate in your personal and professional life.
Avoid simply memorizing the hiring companys values and reciting them back to the interviewer. Instead, spend time absorbing what the companys values mean and consider how you emulate those values in your life. This way, your response will feel genuine and thoughtful.
Most companies will have their core values available on their website. You must know and understand the companys values to make a strong alignment statement. When responding, be sure to include specific examples of how you actively live those values.
