As a TSA screener, youll often be asked to make consequential decisions based on the limited information you have in front of you. By asking this question, your interviewer wants to understand how you work under time pressure and to see if you have been responsible for similarly critical decisions at past jobs. Make sure to highlight your relevant experience and personality traits that equip you for making these kinds of decisions.

Working as a TSA Screener is a strenuous job. Throughout your application, you will need to pass a structured interview and demonstrate the characteristics and traits that every TSA employee needs to possess. These competencies include good judgment, strong decision-making skills, emotional maturity, interpersonal skills, a cooperative nature, and sensitivity toward others. Knowing these are the core competencies that you must portray throughout your structured interview, be prepared to provide examples of the ways that you will need and exceed these expectations. I have worked with the general public throughout my entire career. I fully understand that no two people are the same. Our scenarios change continuously throughout the day at a moments notice. It is very important to be aware of your surroundings at all times. People behave differently and you need to be able to assess how best to deal with that individual and handle a situation. It can go three ways youre unhappy theyre unhappy or no one is unhappy the goal is to provide a safe respectful and peaceful environment.
