25 questions about Interviews at Gordon Food Service

How long does it take to get an interview after you apply at Gordon Food Service?

Quick

Do you have a chance of an interview after the phone interview?

Yes they generally require 2 interviews to get different questions, views of a person & a tour to see if a guy would like it first

What is the interview process like at Gordon Food Service?

It’s a 30 minute in-person interview that is scripted. Don’t expect them to ask typical entry-level job interview questions. They will ask you questions about times where you’ve gone above and beyond for not only your current company, or for customers. (High School students don’t worry, they will be happy if you are in extra-curriculars). Basically, don’t be a dead beat looking for “just a job”. They want people with purpose and drive. Show them that you are more than just a number. They want to see that you will care about the company as much as you care about yourself.

Do they drug test you during interview

No. They give the options of which retail clinic would be suit you at a desired location of your choice.

Does Gordon Good Services give a drug test and physical test on the day of your interview or afterwards, before hiring You?

They do urine samples for warehouse workers and hair for drivers

What questions did they ask during your interview at Gordon Food Service?

We conduct behavioral based interviews, so please come prepared to share examples of past experiences related to the position for which you are applying. We use the SAR method for conducting these interviews:

I had my interview already and they said I’m hired. They are letting me go through the hiring process.but while they are doing that they have to do a company background check. I have a felony from 2004 15 years ago ,will I get the job still? And how many years do they go back?

I can give you a more clear answer coming from someone who had 1 felony that is 6 years and 10 months old. I also had some real funky misdemeanors (about 8). And I just got hired. Just when you do the “explain your charge” assessment, explain everything in detail but have an example on how you’re a changed man and rehabilitated from your ways. Get letters of recommendations, and good references to speak good on your behalf. Good luck and let me know your progress!

If they say you have the job at the face to face interview..will they still proceed with the drug test?

No. They do not drug test

What tips or advice would you give to someone interviewing at Gordon Food Service?

We would recommend doing some research on the company- it’s always good to know about the company you’re interviewing with. You never get another chance to make a good first impression, so dress at least business casual (if not professional). It’s always good to dress a level or two above what the dress code is for your position- if the dress is casual (warehouse or drive roles) you should dress business casual. If you’re interviewing for an office position where the dress is business casual- make sure you’re dressed professional. Lastly we do behavior based interviewing- so research that! We’re looking for specific examples of times when you’ve handled situations. Follow these simple tips and you’ll be ready!
