  • Why NCSU? why now?

Analytics Interview

Application

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at North Carolina State University

Interview

It was good and focused on things mentioned on the resume along with statistics questions. Leadership and teamwork skills are expected. The interview was for 40 mins and went smooth

Interview Questions

  • Whats ARIMA? Whats P value in Hypothesis testing?

The finalist interview is a brief (30-minute) conversation wherein our committee members (a combination of Institute faculty/staff and MSA alumni) will ask you about your interests and professional goals, as well as the skills and talents you might contribute if admitted to the MSA program. While primarily a behavioral interview, we will ask a few technical questions to gain a better understanding of your experience with statistics and coding. Before concluding our conversation, we will also give you an opportunity to ask us program-related questions. You should view this interview just as you would a professional job interview: admission is competitive and seats are limited.

Is the GMAT & GRE required for acceptance into the program? Do international students have the same requirement?*

GRE/GMAT scores are not required of any applicant, nor will they be considered as part of the admissions process. We have found that there is no correlation between students’ scores on these exams and their success in our program. Most international applicants are required to provide official TOEFL or IELTS scores. (Please refer to the English proficiency requirement for details: https://go.ncsu.edu/msa-english.)

I am looking to apply for the 2022-23 cycle for NCSUs Institute of Analytics MSA program. Is anyone here familiar with the admissions process and/or the program itself? If so, Id love some information, advice, or just some words of encouragement as I consider this path. Thanks.
