Example: “If a patient was experiencing severe side effects from a nuclear medicine procedure, I would first ask if they were taking any other medications or supplements that could be contributing to their symptoms. If not, I would speak with my supervisor about the issue so we could determine if there is anything we can do to reduce the severity of the side effects. For example, in one instance, I noticed a patient had an allergic reaction to the dye used for a CT scan. We discussed options for changing the dye and ultimately decided to use a different brand.”
Example: “I perform very well under pressure. I have worked as a nuclear medicine technologist for five years now, and I’ve never missed a deadline or made any mistakes on my patients’ scans. When I first started working here, we had a lot of patients who needed their scans done quickly. We were short-staffed that day, but I managed to get all of my patients scanned before our shift ended.”
Example: “If I noticed a dosage error in a patient’s chart, I would immediately contact my supervisor or manager to let them know about the issue. Then, I would make sure that the proper dosage was listed on the patient’s chart before their procedure. After the procedure, I would check the dosage once more to be sure it was accurate. If there were any issues with the dosage after the procedure, I would report those errors as well so we could address them and prevent them from happening again.
