Cross-Sectional vs. Longitudinal Studies: What’s the Difference?

This is where the comparison between longitudinal study and cross-sectional study comes into play.

Both the cross-sectional and the longitudinal studies are observational studies. Without changing the environment, researchers in the study record data about the test subjects. In a cross-sectional study, test subjects’ data are recorded at a single point in time. It serves as a snapshot of how the test subjects are interacting with the research setting.
