What are Navy weight standards?

Candidates must adhere to strict weight requirements set by the Navy in order to serve on active and reserve duty. These criteria are a part of the Navy’s Body Composition Assessment, which is one of the eligibility criteria for physical fitness. The Navy conducts this assessment on individuals twice yearly. Does the Navy have height requirements?

Although there are no specific height requirements for the Navy, weight standards heavily consider applicants’ height. The chart’s most recent weight standards only shows data for people with heights between 57 and 80 inches. If an applicant’s height is outside of that range, the Navy does not grant waivers.

What happens if an applicant exceeds the weight requirements?

If a candidate weighs too much, they have their abdominal circumference measured. Male applicants must measure no less than 39 inches to pass this test.
