Why do you want to work for Accruent?

Accruent’s mission to help organizations optimize their real estate and facilities deeply resonates with me as someone passionate about workplace optimization. I’m excited by how Accruent uses innovative cloud technology to tackle business challenges. The company’s commitment to growth and mentorship makes it an ideal place to take my career to the next level.

Why are you interested in this role?

As an implementation consultant, I would leverage my background in solution design and project management to ensure customers’ success with Accruent’s products. I’m attracted to the mix of client-facing strategy work along with rolling up my sleeves to configure the technology. Accruent’s stellar reputation for customer care aligns with my priorities around client satisfaction.

How would you describe your work style?

I have an extremely driven work ethic and will often go above-and-beyond to ensure projects are executed flawlessly. At the same time, I prioritize collaboration and lead with emotional intelligence when working with teammates or clients. I’m a big-picture thinker but remain meticulous with follow-through on details. I also believe in continuous skills development to expand my expertise over time.

Behavioral Interview Questions

Tell me about a time you successfully managed an implementation project. What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

In one project rolling out a new HRIS system, we faced unanticipated delays in migrating legacy data. I immediately met with the team and client to reassess priorities and develop a contingency plan for phasing the data migration. We identified temporary workarounds that allowed end users to move forward with critical functions while we resolved the migration issue. Throughout this, I provided constant communication and transparency with stakeholders. Despite the roadblock, we ultimately delivered the project on-time with a satisfied client.

Describe a time you had a disagreement with a coworker. How did you handle it?

When a teammate and I had conflicting ideas on how to approach a client presentation, I set up time with them to understand their perspective. We had an open discussion to voice our opinions and rationale. I made sure to keep the conversation focused on our shared goal of delivering for the client, rather than making it personal. Ultimately we formed a compromise that incorporated both of our ideas meaningfully. Maintaining a spirit of camaraderie and collaboration enabled us to resolve the situation.

Tell me about a time you had to rapidly learn a new technology. What steps did you take?

When my company adopted a new HR platform, I proactively created a self-study plan to get up to speed quickly. I went through documentation, took online courses for certification, and built sample configurations to test my skills hands-on. When I got stuck, I sought guidance from more experienced users. Within 2 weeks, I was able to configure core HR workflows for my team and help coach others to use the system. My manager praised my initiative and rapid ramp-up.

Not only do we look at how well a candidate fits the job technically, but we also ask them about our values. In this way, we make sure that the people we hire are not only different but also share core values like being brave, customer-focused, strategic, and flexible, to name a few.
