In general, you will work on bigger, more complicated projects for a wider range of clients and learn about a wider range of technologies.

Being a consultant is very different from being an admin, but there are also some similarities. One big piece of advice I would give them is to stop thinking about just adding features to Salesforce and start thinking about adding business solutions that will change the way a company works and save time and money.
