How to Pay Your DU Bill: A Step-by-Step Guide

Paying your DU bill on time each semester is crucial for staying on top of your finances as a student. With tuition fees, housing meals, and more to budget for, keeping track of what you owe and making payments can seem daunting. Thankfully, DU offers several convenient payment options to choose from. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll walk through the step-by-step process for paying your DU bill so you can keep your university finances in check.

Understanding Your DU Bill

The first step to paying your DU bill is understanding exactly what charges you’re being billed for. Your DU bill, also called your student account statement, outlines all the fees and charges you owe for a given semester.

Common charges on your DU bill may include:

  • Tuition – The cost of your academic credits. Tuition rates differ based on your program, student level, and number of credit hours.

  • Student fees – Fees that support campus facilities activities and resources. These may include recreation fees, health center fees, student government fees, and more.

  • Housing and dining – Room and board costs if you live on campus.

  • Health insurance – Many students are automatically enrolled in the university’s health insurance plan. You can waive this if you have other coverage.

  • Miscellaneous charges – Things like parking permits, library fines, application fees, or other incidental charges.

Your DU bill is issued electronically through the student portal DUPay. You can view your full billing statement there, including charges, payments, financial aid credits, and your overall balance due. Monitoring your DUPay account is key for understanding what you owe each semester.
