Understand Your Electric Bill

WRVEC electric bills are mailed monthly and include charges for your electric usage, fees, taxes, and other charges. Review key sections:

  • Account number and total amount due
  • Due date for payment
  • Meter number and readings for kilowatt-hour usage
  • Number of days in the billing cycle
  • Itemized list of charges

Compare usage to previous bills to spot irregularities. Rate schedules vary so check yours.

Avoid Late Fees

WRVEC bills are due by the due date printed on your bill, typically around the 10th of the month. A late fee of 1.5% is added to unpaid balances after the due date. Pay on time each month to avoid penalties. Contact WRVEC immediately if you anticipate difficulty paying a bill by the due date.

Payment Assistance Programs

WRVEC partners with state and federal programs to offer payment assistance for qualifying low-income members, including:

  • LIHEAP – Helps pay winter heating bills
  • ECIP – Offers urgent bill payment aid

Learn more and apply if eligible through the Missouri Department of Social Services. Promptly paying your monthly electric bill can help avoid service disconnection.

Moving and Closing Accounts

Inform WRVEC a few weeks before you move so they can take final meter readings and close your account. Provide a forwarding address for your final bill. To transfer or open electric service within WRVEC’s service area, contact them to establish service at your new address.

Ozarks holidays are filled with traditions. From gathering with families around a meal to placing tinsel on the trees—the holidays are a time for togetherness. Especially this time of year, there is no greater sound than that of my grandchildren’s laughter when we spend time together. The spirit in the air truly makes it a magical season.
