  • The customer must contact the third-party payment site to make a change.

  • You can pay your SMECO electric bill at any Walmart for an extra charge of as little as 88 cents.
  • Just bring a copy of your bill to any Walmart Customer Service Desk or Money Center.
  • Please allow three business days for the payment to post
  • You can pay with cash or a debit card with a PIN. Credit cards and checks are not accepted.
  • Any banking or payment item sent back to the co-op by a customer whose bank hasn’t paid for it will be charged.
  • This includes payments made through third-party bill-paying services as well as payments made for electric bills, customer deposits, reconnection fees, or any other fee paid to the co-op.
  • The charge will be added to the customer’s account
  • A customer can ask for the return fee to be waived if it hasn’t been waived in the last 11 months.

  • Customers who can’t pay for their electricity according to SMECO’s billing rules may be able to work out a different payment plan in some situations.
  • The customer’s situation, finances, and payment history will all be taken into account in the new payment plan.

  • The agreed-upon plan will be recorded in the customer’s SMECO account. If the customer fails to meet the agreed-upon obligations, SMECO may begin the turn-off procedures for a past-due balance without further notice.
