Pay Online for Convenience
The easiest way to pay your BASA sewer bill is through the online payment portal on the BASA website Just visit wwwbasapa, org and click on the “Pay My Bill” link at the top of the homepage, This will direct you to a secure page where you can input your 9-digit account number and set up auto-pay or make one-time payments,
Online payments via e-check from your checking account are completely free You also have the option to pay by debit or credit card for a small 245% convenience fee. After entering your payment info, you will receive an email confirmation with your payment details and current account balance.
Paying online allows you to avoid buying stamps, writing checks, or making trips to the payment office. You can pay at any time of day while in your pajamas if you wish! Online payments post to your account immediately, so you don’t have to worry about delays with snail mail.
Pay by Phone
If you prefer to speak to a real human, BASA also offers pay by phone options. Call the main office at (724) 282-1978 and select option 2 from the phone menu. This will connect you with a customer service agent who can take your payment over the phone.
You will need to provide your account number and type of payment being made. Phone payments can be made via credit card, debit card, or e-check. Just like with online payments, e-checks are free while cards incur a small 2.45% fee. The agent will provide a confirmation number at the end verifying your payment was received.
Pay by Mail
For BASA customers who don’t have Internet access or feel uncomfortable paying bills online, sending a payment by mail is always an option. Simply write out a check or money order to “Butler Area Sewer Authority”, include your 9-digit account number in the memo line, and mail it to:
Butler Area Sewer Authority
290 South Duffy Road
Butler, PA 16001
Be sure to allow 7-10 business days for your mailed payment to reach the office and post to your account. Payments received after the due date, regardless of postmarked date, will result in a late fee being assessed. Setting a monthly reminder to mail your payment at least 5 business days before the due date can help avoid any unnecessary fees.
Avoid Late Fees
BASA sewer bills are issued monthly and are due by the final day of each month. A 10% penalty is added to any balance not paid by the due date. As a public utility, BASA relies on customer payments to fund operations and infrastructure projects. Late payments disrupt their budget, so be sure to pay on time each month.
The online payment system and autopay options make it easier than ever to pay your sewer bill on time every month. Take advantage of these convenient payment methods offered by BASA to avoid worry and any late fees! Reach out to BASA with any other questions about your account or wastewater service.
