bnsf interview questions

I did an online career fair via Handshake with BNSF Railways and submitted an application after a great 5-minute interview. After passing the assessment, I am now required to do pre-recorded interview questions. Could some provide any advice or insight on what type of questions BNSF Railways might ask? For some background, I am a Mechanical Engineering major attending a CSU with internship experience in medical devices, manufacturing, and information technology.

Conductor Trainee Interview

Application

I interviewed at BNSF Railway

Interview

It was a Zoom call with a recruiter and a local lead person. They asked some questions for about 15 minutes, then opened up to questions I might have. They were nice enough, but you could tell that they have many interviews to do.

Interview Questions

  • They asked a few different questions about safety. They asked what you would do if you saw somebody working unsafe around you. They asked how you would resolve disputes if you and another person disagreed on how certain tasks should be done.

Internship Interview

Application

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at BNSF Railway

Interview

The initial interview was one of those interviews where it just pops up with a question and starts filming you soon after the question pops up, not my favorite interview style. However, the second round of interview was in person and the people were very personable and made me feel comfortable.

Interview Questions

  • A time I dealt with a challenge during a group project and how it was resolved.

Trainmaster Interview

Pretty generic canned questions. Not very interactive, kinda like a government interview. Several questions are two or three parts. Will also see similar questions, so I would recommend multiple responses for conflict, problem solving, and process improvement.

Interview Questions

  • Conflict with someone and how you managed through it.
