I was approached by a third party recruiter (Pinnacle) for this role and was preliminarily interviewed by the recruiter. I then submitted to the company website and had an interview with two DirecTV employees, who were nice and thorough and asked the right questions. For the second interview, I was to prepare a presentation of my work for a panel of several DirecTV people, including the original two people I’d interviewed with. We actually went over time and again, I thought it went well and everyone asked good questions and I felt the conversation went well. They also asked me to follow up with the recruiter to send them the presentation deck, which I did. Less than a week later, I received an auto-generated email from the DirecTV careers account I had to create saying that they were moving forward with someone else! Nothing from the team I’d interviewed with, nothing from the recruiter and no information as to why they went with someone else. The recruiter claimed to have no information when I reached out to them. This is so disrespectful and rude and unprofessional at every level. I’m really disgusted with how much time I wasted only to be treated this way. This is what is wrong with American businesses today.
