A unique program where participants work alongside top industry chefs and learn to hone their craft, as well as excellent hospitality skills.
The Disney Culinary Program occurs year-round, and is individualized in length based upon each student and school. The specific individualized program timeframe will be discussed during the interview.
The Walt Disney World Resort, covering more than 47 square miles, is one of the largest and most exciting vacation destinations. Over the span of Disneys properties, there are more than 300 food and beverage locations with a large span of types of dining experiences.
Though each role offered in the Disney Culinary Program offers a unique and diverse learning experience, all participants will have the opportunity to develop their communication and problem-solving skills, and work on confidence and self-reliance.
Each Culinary Program participant is expected to make between $14.40 and $18.00 per hour. Wage varies depending on the site and role the participant is placed.
Participants are expected to have full work availability. This includes working days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Shifts can be any time of day, including early morning and after midnight. The range of hours during non-peak season is between 30 and 50 hours. In peak season, participants may be scheduled more than 50 hours per week.
Weekly Housing Payment Housing costs range from $114 to $205 per week depending on the size of the apartment and which apartment complex a participant is assigned to live in during his or her program.
Housing costs are automatically deducted weekly from cast members’ paychecks, so they don’t have to worry about turning in a check at the beginning of the month. This cost includes all utilities such as electricity, cable hookup, waste disposal and local phone service; as well as the various resort-style amenities featured at each complex.
Fees due upon accepting Disney Culinary Program invitation A total of $390 will be due at the time a participant accepts their invitation to participate in the program. This fee must be paid by credit card/debit card as a single payment, and a minimal processing fee will be applied. Once the payment is received and the online acceptance process is completed, Disney will officially reserve the participants’ place on the program.
Disney Culinary Program participants have the opportunity to live with people from all over the country, and potentially from around the world. Disney Housing complexes are diverse in their amenities and offer the opportunity to meet fellow participants and create a sense of community. One- to four-bedroom apartments are available, with up to eight participants residing in an apartment.
Housing accommodations are assigned based on gender and available inventory at the time of housing registration.

Very easy going, either will meet online through a video call, or in person. Be sure to arrive up to an hour early to find parking and find the building. Or if it’s a video call get prepared 30min early so you will look refreshed and ready instead of rushed. Make sure your attire, audio, and background are all appropriate and working.
- The questions are very straight forward ranging from your experiences and opinions on the Walt Disney Parks experience to why you want to work for Disney and what your goals are. Asking about hobbies and everyday activities, they will sometimes make this seem like a friendly conversation but always make sure your answers are appropriate.

Possible culinary interview questions
Tell them everything you possibly remember about the different types of cuts on beef, for example. So you can say, “there are five cuts that I know of, and they are rib eye, New York strip, top sirloin, tenderloin, top sirloin cap.” you can also go ahead and elaborate a point or two if you think you’re efficient enough.
Being honest with this question is the best thing you can do, briefly explain your weaknesses but try and stress your strengths more. Also, try to assure them you can always turn your weaknesses into your strengths. This is a question that is asked to test how honest and accepting you are of yourself.
Wine and beer knowledge is a must for a person applying for the Disney culinary program. In addition, you have to be able to recommend a wine that is the best pairing with the food that one orders. So we suggest you polish your skills from this very minute if you think you require it.
This is a very individual perspective question, and it should be answered carefully rather than just putting out your raw ideas or reasons before the interviewers. However, you can start on your passion for cooking, how you came across the program, and how you can see yourself developing with the help of this program or the opportunity given.
This is also a very individual-based question and is not that hard to answer. You just need to tell them briefly your story of how you started to get interested in cooking and then redirect it into how it has biome your career choice.
“Always be careful and as attentive as possible, keep my view all around and not just focused on one thing or place. Be able to assess the kitchen atmosphere, it might be between the staff or just how things are going on in general”. This was just an example of how you could answer; you can always answer it your way or add more to what we provided.
As we said before, a culinary interview revolves around your individual abilities to make the kitchen more efficient. Therefore, to get the job, you have to be able to answer these questions with the most interesting yet practical answers.
“Think of all the possible ways I can get it in time. If it’s an ingredient that can be made from scrape, I will try my best to make it as fast as possible. I will check with the other staff to know if there’s any possible way to get it when required. But I will also check in advance to avoid this happening in the first place”. For this question, the key is to assure them that you have the management skills and think of some solution to keep the routine undisturbed.
Dress to impress, meet the requirements, polish your skills as much as possible, and be there on time. If it’s a phone interview, then be sure to keep your voice confident and assertive.
