I went through 8 hours of testing, interviews with multiple departments, talking to a psychologist for an hour, and then reaching out to my references and doing a background check all over the course of over 2 months and did not receive an offer. It was very time consuming and seems inconsiderate of others time when you are going to that extent and do not make an offer.
- First thing they asked is if I had any questions for them, which seems odd as a first question.

Initial phone screen lasted about 30 minutes. Next step was to complete cognitive and behavioral tests which took approximately 2.5 hours. After that was a panel interview where they ask you a numerous amount of behavioral/situational questions that really seemed to be an overkill. I never had the opportunity to really discuss the details of the role, compensation structure, performance measurements, etc. It was an incongruent interview process with no structure or clarity. I followed up on what next steps were and it took a long time to hear back from them. On top of everything I had to pay $25 to have my college transcripts mailed to them. I’ve never applied for a job and had to pay money to do so. It seems like that should have been something they would ask when making a formal offer. Overall, the candidate experience was very poor.

Be interested & present
Make sure you’re actively showing interest in the role and the company, and mentally present during the interview. If you seem disinterested in trying to get the job, recruiters and interviewers may get the impression that you’re not interested in doing the job.

Hey fellow drivers! So I have made it through the application and preliminary interview gauntlet with Dot Foods, based out of the Syracuse, NY branch (I am based in Massachusetts and will be working out of Chicopee if I get the job). They finally called me after two weeks of processing my background check and references to have an in-person interview and driving test. I know it’s a big deal because they are extremely selective as an employer (compared to the rest of the industry anyways) and I really want to work for Dot.
