Elevator mechanics are responsible for installing, testing, and servicing elevator systems. They usually work for elevator manufacturing companies and may also be required to service and repair mechanical walkways as well as escalators in malls and office buildings.
When interviewing elevator mechanics, suitable candidates will have in-depth knowledge of mechanical elevator systems, good troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently. Be wary of candidates with limited electrical knowledge and those who are unable to work after hours.

What Will Be the Format of the Interview?
The interview will be conducted by a committee of at least two members of the Joint Apprentice Committee (JAC). One of the interviewers will be an employer, the other a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC).
When Will I Hear about My Interview?
Only candidates that pass the aptitude test with a grade of at least a 70 will be asked to come in for an interview. When you receive your passing grade you will get the interview request with it.
