3 to 4 Hour coding test. There was dynamic programming, string manipulation, a logic testing, a made up language test. There was also a phone interview which consisted of talking to a software engineer about favorite projects, interests, etc.

General Response: We had a few challenges during the initial phase of the project. The overall build phase for Epic implementation took longer than expected – due to the existing staff resistance.

The demand for Epic certified specialists is growing by the day. Epic’s software leads the healthcare industry and is expected to play an even vital role in the future. The driving force behind this demand is of course the increasing use of Epic Systems Software in major healthcare firms and the complexity of actually becoming Epic certified.

The life of an Epic Systems Analyst is challenging to say the least. In addition to dealing with the actual implementation from the ground up, an analyst has to manage a team of healthcare technicians, staff and clinicians and have them trained towards the new system. Not to mention, the challenging tasks of follow-up, optimization and after-sales support and maintenance activities.

Epic implementation of EHR systems is expected to continue and this only means one thing – healthcare firms would need more IT professionals who are certified in Epic systems, at least for the next few years.

It’s crucial to respond in a way that shows the interviewer that you do have the ability to meet deadlines and can work in a fast-paced challenging environment – particularly when faced with challenges like resistance from the existing staff.

Im a people person. I was always happiest and most satisfied when I was interacting with community residents, making sure I was able to meet their needs and giving them the best possible comfort in a tough situation. It was my favorite part of the job, and it showed. Part of the reason Im interested in this job is that I know Id have even more interaction with the public, on an even more critical level.

If you truly believe youre a 10, you better be able to explain why with examples / stories. If you believe youre a great contributor and have room to grow, say 8 or 9. If youre below that, explain what you would do to improve yourself to get the ranking you believe you can be.

You should always answer yes to this question. Briefly explain why without going on and on. If you communicate that youre more successful than you really are you may come off as arrogant or unrealistic. A goof explanation is that you have set professional goals and that you have met some of these goals and are on track to meet more in the near future.

Ive been honing my skills As Epic Analyst for a few years now and, first and foremost, Im looking for a position where I can continue to exercise those skills. Ideally the same things that this position has to offer. Be specific.

Dont say anything that could eliminate you from consideration for the job. For instance, “Im slow in adapting to change” is not a wise answer, since change is par for the course in most work environments. Avoid calling attention to any weakness thats one of the critical qualities the hiring manager is looking for. And dont try the old “Im a workaholic,” or “Im a perfectionist.

So, Im an EMT in TX and got an interview with a local hospital in the area for application systems analyst. Ive worked in the medical field for 8+ years but have no experience in anything else. Im beyond stoked for the opportunity to interview with Epic, over the phone I was told it was going to be a “team interview”, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what questions they were asked/ what questions maybe I should have for them.
