How to Pay Your Bill to Kerala Water Authority

Pay Online

The fastest and most convenient way for most customers to pay their water bill is online using KWA’s e-payment system Here is how to pay online

Step 1: Go to Official KWA Website

• Go to www.kwa.kerala.gov.in
• Click on “Online Payment” at top
• Choose “Water Bill Payment”

Step 2: Enter Consumer Number

• Enter your unique 15-digit consumer number
• This is printed on your monthly KWA bill

Step 3: Pick Payment Amount

• Your latest bill details will appear
• Choose the amount you wish to pay
• You can pay in full or partial

Step 4: Make Payment

• Select your payment method
• Debit card, credit card, UPI, net banking accepted
• Enter details and complete payment

Step 5: Get Receipt

• Download or print e-receipt
• Payment reflected instantly in KWA account

Pay Using Mobile App

KWA has also launched a mobile app for water bill payment called “KWA mPay”. Just search for “KWA mPay” on Google Play or Apple App Store and install the app on your phone. Register your consumer number in the app and then you can:

• Get payment receipts on phone
• Manage multiple water connections

This gives you access to bill payment on-the-go using your mobile phone

Pay at Designated Banks

KWA has partnered with select banks to allow water bill payment at bank branches across Kerala. Simply walk into any branch of:

• Federal Bank
• South Indian Bank
• Union Bank of India
• IDBI Bank

Submit your KWA consumer number and payment amount to the teller to settle dues. Keep the bank-issued receipt as your payment proof.

Pay at Akshaya Centres

The Akshaya project is a Kerala government initiative that has established e-centres offering online services to citizens. There are over 2,500 Akshaya centres across Kerala that allow you to pay your KWA water bill.

Walk into your nearest Akshaya centre with your KWA consumer number and cash/card to make payment. This facility is available in rural and semi-urban areas where online access may be limited.

Pay Using Quick Pay Counters

KWA has also set up computerized Quick Pay counters at select branches. These counters have dedicated staff to help customers pay water bills easily through cash/card. Locate your nearest Quick Pay counter on the KWA website for in-person bill payment.

Pay by Post

To pay your water bill by post, you need to send a demand draft (DD) or cheque to the relevant KWA office covering your supply zone. Get a DD made out to “Kerala Water Authority” and write your consumer number on the back before mailing it.

While slow, paying by post works if you prefer old-fashioned cheque payments.

Apply for Subsidy Support

Kerala residents who meet below poverty line (BPL) criteria can apply to get subsidized water bills under the government’s welfare schemes. Consumers classified as BPL will get 25% subsidy on water charges.

Check if you qualify and apply for BPL classification to lower your monthly water bill. Supporting documents like income certificate are required.

Avoid Disconnection with Late Fee

If you miss paying your water bill by the due date, a late fee of 4% is added to the charges. After 3 months of non-payment, KWA may disconnect your water supply.

So pay your bill on time, but if delay is unavoidable, pay the late fee promptly to avoid temporary disconnection.
