The second interview will be a discussion of the case, including your methods, ideas, how you came to your conclusions, and so on. I guess an hour will seem like not enough time. In my case, the coversation went on for an additional 45 min. There will also be some questions on your career plan…what you expect, german employment scene, etc. Definitely a good chance to get answers to any general questions you have about the program, your job prospects in Germany after the job, etc.

My admission experience was straightforward. I visited the school on the mid-october and talked with adcoms and several students there. After I going back to my country, then I start the application. My first interview wasn’t very long because I talked to the admissions officers a lot during my visit. The question was, “What did I think about my visit? Why did I decide to apply?” The first interview is just 30 minutes via skype.

My second interview was rather rigorous. I was given a case study and need to explain the problem and solution to the case. After the case study, I was also asked about my profile and career plan. Lot of ‘trap’ question there, so I think you are really need to prepare your answer. Even though I wasn’t sure about my answer to the case study, I worked hard to show that my work experience and career goals fit with the program. The interview went on for more than an hour because we talked for a long time, but the interviewer was honest about my career goals and my chances of getting in.

Please keep in mind that the admissions process could be different for each candidate based on what I learned last year. This means that some candidates might not be able to use what I learned and vice versa.
