Reminder: 2024/2025 Winter Water Use Calculation Period to Begin for Single Family Residences Only

Sewer rates for single family homes (1-4 units) are based on the average of the metered water usage from on or around December 20th through February 20th each year for the three (3) previous years divided by six. For new service accounts, the first three year’s Winter Water Use shall be set to 6 HCF/month. Under no circumstance shall a customer’s Winter Water Use be less than 2 HCF/month.

This will establish the maximum sewer charge for the 12-month period beginning April 2025 through March 2026 billing period. If actual water usage is less than the average winter water usage during the year, the charge will be based on the actual water usage.

Multi-family homes and commercial establishments are not typically subject to the average winter water usage calculation, as the sewer charges are based on all monthly water usage.
