Navigating Online Bill Pay for Radiology Services Through RadNet
Getting a medical bill in the mail can be confusing and stressful. Today, many radiology providers like RadNet offer online bill pay to simplify the process. At RadNet, patients can easily view billing details, understand charges, and make payments digitally. Read on to learn how RadNet’s secure online platform takes the pain out of paying radiology bills.
Accessing Your RadNet Patient Account
After receiving care at a RadNet imaging center, you’ll get a paper statement summarizing your visit, procedures performed, and total patient responsibility To access the same information online and manage payments, you first need to register for the RadNet patient portal.
Go to www.radnet.com and click on “Pay Bill” in the top menu bar. On the billing page, select “Patient Portal Login” and enter your email address. Create a password to complete enrollment. You can also download the RadNet patient app for bill pay access on mobile devices.
Understanding Your Radiology Bill
Once logged in to your RadNet account, you can view billing statements, insurance EOBs, and payment history in one convenient place. Clicking on any statement gives a detailed breakdown of charges for each service along with insurance adjustments and payments made.
Radiology billing can be complex. Multiple procedures or body parts scanned may be listed separately. Your insurer likely has contracted rates that differ from RadNet’s retail fees. If any charge seems abnormal, don’t hesitate to call RadNet’s billing department for clarification.
When Do Radiology Bills Need to Be Paid?
For insured patients, the patient responsibility portion of a RadNet bill is typically due upon receiving care. This includes copays, coinsurance, or unmet deductible amounts as determined by your plan. RadNet collects these amounts upfront before performing exams.
However, your insurer may adjust charges after claim processing, requiring additional payment or issuing you a refund. This balance change is reflected on your first billing statement. Begin watching for bills about a month after your appointment date.
For uninsured/self-pay patients, RadNet provides a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs when services are scheduled. As a courtesy, full payment is due within 30 days of the initial statement date. Be sure to request an itemized bill if needed to seek reimbursement from a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
Ways to Pay Your RadNet Bill Digitally
RadNet offers three convenient online payment options through the patient portal and mobile app:
- Pay now via credit/debit card or eCheck
- Set up autopay using your card on file
- Schedule one-time future payments
To pay now, select your outstanding balance and enter card details or bank account information. Payments process immediately on secure servers. You’ll receive an emailed receipt.
For hands-off convenience, enroll in autopay. RadNet will automatically charge your card on file each month to settle your balance. You control the payment date and can cancel anytime.
To pay later, choose the “Make a One-Time Payment” option. Enter the future date and payment method. Reminder emails are sent as your scheduled date approaches.
