Paying Online Through SmartHub

The fastest and most convenient way to pay is through SmartHub, PGEC’s online and mobile account portal. To pay online:

  • Login to your SmartHub account.
  • Select “Pay Now” from the menu.
  • Choose a payment amount from your balance.
  • Enter your payment details.
  • Review and submit.

Payments made through SmartHub are applied immediately You can also set up recurring payments.

Paying by Phone

To pay by phone, call PGEC at 804-834-2424 and select the billing option. You can make a one-time payment using your credit/debit card or checking account details.

Phone payments are processed as soon as your call is completed. Just make sure to call during business hours to speak with a representative.

Mailing In Your Payment

To pay by mail, detach the payment stub from your paper bill and enclose it with a check or money order. Use the mailing address printed on your bill.

Mailed payments take 5-7 business days to reach PGEC and get applied to your account. Allow extra time before your due date so your payment arrives on time.

  • Select your draft date.
  • Review and confirm.

Your bill will now be paid each month automatically on the due date. You can cancel or update your enrollment at any time.

PrePay Pay-As-You-Go Billing

PGEC’s PrePay program allows you to pay for energy as you use it without a monthly bill. Your payments are immediately credited to your account as you make them. When your balance gets low, you simply make another payment via SmartHub, phone, or in-person. If your balance reaches zero, service is subject to disconnection. PrePay allows you to take control of your energy payments. Enroll through your online SmartHub account.

How do I pay my electric bill at PGEC?

PGEC offers members a variety of ways to pay their bills. Our mobile app is made to give you quick, safe access to your account so you can easily manage your electric service from anywhere. VISA or MasterCard are accepted and no fee is charged. Sign up using the following path: SmartHub, Billing and Payments, and Auto Pay Accounts.

Do PGEC members pay their bill on time?

While most members pay their bill on time, a very small portion does not. PGEC will try to call members by automated calls if we have their phone number on file once a disconnection notice is printed. The message will ask you to please contact the Co-op about your bill.

Does PGEC disconnect service for non-payment for energy consumption?

Some don’t, and PGEC has to cut off service to those who haven’t paid for the energy they’ve used over the last two billing cycles. On a monthly cycle, we bill each account for the month’s kilowatt-hour consumption. After the bill is issued, the member has 20 days to pay for the previous month’s usage.
