Paying your water bill on time is important to avoid late fees and service interruptions. Rainier View Water, now part of Washington Water Service, offers multiple options to pay your bill conveniently. In this article, we’ll provide a step-by-step guide on how to pay online, by phone, by mail, and in person
Paying Online
The easiest way to pay your Rainier View Water bill is online through Washington Water’s website. Here’s how to pay online

Go to https://www.wawater.com/ and click on “Pay Your Bill” at the top of the page. This will take you to the payment portal.

If it’s your first time paying online, click on “Register” to create an account You’ll need your account number and an email address

Once registered, log in with your email and password. Your account balance will be displayed.

Enter your payment amount and select your payment method – credit card or bank account.

For credit cards, enter your card details and billing address. For bank accounts, enter your account number and routing number.

Review the payment details and submit. You’ll receive a confirmation email with your payment receipt.
Paying online is the fastest way to ensure your payment gets processed immediately. It’s available 24/7 and you can opt to store your payment details for future transactions.
Paying by Phone
You can also pay your Rainier View Water bill easily over the phone using Washington Water’s automated payment system.

Mailing a check gives you a paper trail, but takes longer to process than online payments. Be sure to mail at least 5 business days before your due date.
Paying In Person
For cash payments or money orders, you can pay your Rainier View Water bill in person at an authorized payment location.

Walmart stores – Look for the CheckFreePay sign at the customer service desk to pay with cash or money order.

7-Eleven stores – Make cash or debit payments at the register. Look for the PayNearMe sign.

At an in-person payment location, you’ll need to provide your account number or scan your bill to process the payment. Get a receipt as proof of payment.
In-person payments allow you to pay with cash immediately. However, availability of these authorized payment locations can vary.
Setting Up Auto-Pay
For ultimate convenience, consider enrolling in auto-pay for automatic payments from your bank account.

Select AutoPay Enrollment.

Agree to the terms and submit.
Once auto-pay is active, your payments will process on the due date without any action needed from you. You’ll still receive a bill for your records.

What Happens If You Miss a Payment?
If you’re unable to pay your water bill by the due date, it’s important to take action quickly:

A late fee of 1% will be applied if payment is not received by the due date.

A disconnection notice will be sent if the account remains unpaid after 10 days past the due date.

Accounts with a past due balance after 20 days are subject to water service interruption. Service will not be restored until the past due amount is paid.

An additional $30 fee is charged for reconnecting service after disconnection.

Missed payments can impact your credit score and lead to collections actions if left unpaid.
Avoid penalties and service interruptions by paying on time every month. If you anticipate difficulty with a payment, contact Washington Water immediately about possible payment plan options.
Available Payment Assistance Programs
If you are experiencing financial hardship and unable to pay your bill, Washington Water offers two assistance programs:

Promise Pay – Offers 12-month interest-free payment plans for past due balances. Apply online or contact customer service.

Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) – Provides bill payment assistance for qualifying low income households. You must apply through your local social services office.
Payment plans and financial assistance are available to help customers manage through difficult circumstances. Be sure to contact Washington Water right away if you anticipate problems paying your bill.

Option Three: Credit Card Payments
Washington Water accepts payment using the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover and Visa/MasterCard Debit. Payments can be made at “no charge” or over the phone for a fee of $1.25 per transaction. If you would like to make your payment on the phone, please call our customer service center at (877) 408-4060—or (888) 490-3741 for East Pierce customers—during normal operating hours.
Option One: Online Payment Portal
Customers who sign up for our online payment portal can:

- Set up recurring payments
- Make payments at any time

Most Washington Water customers can reach the portal by visiting wawater.firstbilling.com. East Pierce customers (formerly Rainier View Water customers) should visit www.xpressbillpay.com.
Auto-Pay/EFT is the option that we recommend. It allows us to debit your payment from a checking or savings account.
With Auto-Pay, your payment will be drafted on the due date that is printed on your monthly invoice. If the date falls on a weekend or holiday, the payment will be drafted the following business day. You can call our office and update your banking information or discontinue Auto-Pay at any time.
If you would like to sign up for Auto-Pay, complete the auto-payment application form (see the link below) and return it to our office along with a voided check from your bank account. If you do not have checks for your account, a deposit slip with your routing number and account number will work. If you include your email address on the form, we will automatically sign you up for Ebilling, and you will receive a confirmation email that this service has been activated.
