Tell me about yourself?
This is a nice first question, and it gives you plenty of scopes to talk about yourself and what you have done.
Explain where you’re from, that you have a visa and outline your previous relevant work experience. If you have no relevant experience you should outline similar experiences you may have had in school or university.
In this guide, we’ll give you a list of the most common ski instructor interview questions and answers. We’ll also give you some tips on how to prepare for your interview so you can make a great impression on the hiring manager.
Ski instructors often work with young children, so employers may ask this question to make sure you have the necessary training and certifications. If you are not CPR certified, consider taking a course before your interview. Show that you understand why it’s important for ski instructors to be CPR certified by explaining what you would do if an emergency occurred on the mountain.
Example: “I am CPR certified, and I think it’s extremely important for all ski instructors to be as well. In my last position, there was an accident on the slopes when one of the students fell and hit his head. Luckily, I was nearby and able to administer first aid until the paramedics arrived. Had I not been CPR certified, I wouldn’t have known how to help him.”
Recording student progress is an important part of being a ski instructor. Employers may ask this question to make sure you have experience using video cameras and other recording tools to document your students’ progress. In your answer, explain how you use these tools to record data about your students’ performance on the slopes. Share any specific software or programs that you’ve used in the past to organize your data.
Example: “I love working with kids because they are naturally full of energy. I find that if I can get them excited about skiing or snowboarding, then they will stay interested throughout the entire lesson. To do this, I like to incorporate games into my lessons. For example, I might teach them some new vocabulary words related to skiing or snowboarding. This helps them learn while also keeping them entertained.”

Think again. Without a successful interview it is definitely not in the bag. Yes there are a number of vacancies out there and lots of companies need to find lots of staff BUT they will still interview in a formal manner as if it was a permanent UK based job. So be prepared…..!
Personality is very important in these positions; they are looking for candidates who stand out, who have something about them who will be confident talking easily to their guests. They want happy, smiley and easygoing candidates so try not to be too nervous!
Good luck all – with the above preparation, the job should then be ‘in the bag’!.
So you have worked hard on your CV, covering letter, finally found a half decent photo of yourself, applied to a number of roles and bagged yourself a couple of interviews for ski season jobs.
