As a rural electric cooperative, South Kentucky RECC (SKRECC) offers several convenient payment options to fit member needs. Whether you prefer paying online, on the phone, by mail or in person, SKRECC has a solution Read on as I break down the various ways to pay your electric bill with SKRECC
Pay Online
The easiest way to pay your SKRECC bill is through their online member portal, SmartHub. You can access it from your computer or download the app. SmartHub allows you to:
- View billing history
- Check account balance
- Make a payment
- Set up autopay
- Go paperless
To pay online, simply log into SmartHub, enter your payment info and submit. It accepts Visa, Mastercard, debit cards and e-checks. Payments post instantly so you don’t have to worry about late fees.
Pay by Phone
To pay by phone, call your local SKRECC office number and select option 5 for the automated system. Then choose option 3 to make a payment by credit card or e-check. This secure IVR payment system is available 24/7 for your convenience.
Pay by Mail
If you prefer to mail in a check payment, send it to:
SKRECCP.O. Box 910Somerset KY 42502
Be sure to include your payment stub or write your account number on the check. Allow 5-7 business days for standard mail delivery.
Pay in Person
SKRECC has several local office locations where you can pay your bill in person:
- Albany Office: 715 Snow Rd
- Monticello Office: 780 N Main St
- Jamestown Office: 2405 N Main St
- Somerset Office: 200 Electric Ave
- Whitley City Office: 51 Center Ave
Offices are open Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. You can also use the 24/7 drop box if paying after hours. Cash, check, credit and debit cards are accepted.
Pay at a Kiosk
For added convenience, SKRECC has payment kiosks available 24/7 at all office locations. The touchscreen kiosks accept cash, checks and credit/debit payments except American Express. You’ll get a printed receipt too.
Pay at Retail Locations
Some retailers like Walmart allow you to pay your SKRECC bill in-store through Vanilla Direct. Just present the barcode on your bill and they can process the payment. A convenience fee may apply with this option.
Avoid Late Fees
To avoid late fees, make sure to pay your SKRECC electricity bill by the due date listed. You have about 25 days from the billing date to pay. If payment is received after the due date, a 5% late penalty applies.
I recommend setting up autopay through SmartHub so your bill gets paid automatically each month. Getting account alerts can also help you stay on top of your balance.
Payment Assistance Programs
If you’re ever struggling to pay your electric bill, SKRECC has programs like Budget Billing to even out payments. You may also qualify for assistance through their Helping Neighbors program funded by Operation Round Up donations. Just reach out to their friendly customer service team for help.
In Summary
SKRECC offers flexible payment options like online, phone, mail, in person, and retail locations. Sign up for autopay to avoid late fees. Seek assistance if needed. With multiple ways to pay your rural electric bill, SKRECC makes it quick and convenient for members. I appreciate how they are always looking to improve the member experience.
