Paying your water bill is a necessary evil that no one enjoys However, the Town of Little Elm has taken steps to streamline the process and make paying your water bill as quick and painless as possible. In this article, we’ll walk through the various ways Little Elm residents can pay their water bills, highlight the benefits of each, and provide tips for avoiding late fees
Online Bill Pay
The most convenient way to pay your Little Elm water bill is online through the town’s website. You can access the online payment system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at https://billing.ci.little-elm.tx.us/.
To start you’ll need your account number and PIN which are printed on your monthly paper bill. Once logged in, you can view your balance, payment history and make a payment. Accepted payment methods include Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and E-Check.
Paying online helps you avoid
- Waiting in line at Town Hall
- Mailing in a paper check
- Forgetting when your bill is due
- Late fees from a missed payment
With automatic payments, you can even set it and forget it so your bill gets paid on time every month without any effort on your part.
Pay By Phone
If you prefer to pay your bill over the phone, Little Elm offers an automated payment system. Just dial 877-881-0114 and follow the prompts to enter your account information and make a payment. Like online payments, you can pay by credit/debit card or electronic check.
This is a great option if you don’t have consistent internet access or find it easier to pay bills over the phone. The automated system is available 24/7 so you can call on your schedule.
Pay By Mail
For residents who prefer more traditional bill payment methods, you can still mail in a paper check or money order. Your payment will need to be received by the due date to avoid any late fees.
When paying by mail, be sure to include your payment stub from your water bill to ensure quick processing. Send your payment to:
Town of Little Elm
100 W Eldorado Pkwy
Little Elm, TX 75068
Just keep in mind that mail delivery times can vary, so make sure to mail your payment 1-2 weeks in advance of the due date. Late fees are $10 if not received by the due date.
Pay in Person
If you want to hand deliver your water bill payment, you can drop it off at Little Elm Town Hall located at 100 W Eldorado Pkwy. In-person payments are accepted Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.
When paying in person, you can pay by cash, check, money order or credit/debit card. Just make sure to bring your water bill with you.
The benefit of paying in person is the immediacy – you can get a payment receipt right away. The downside is having to make a special trip to Town Hall during business hours.
Avoid Late Fees
To avoid getting hit with a $10 late fee, make sure your payment is received by the due date listed on your water bill. This due date does not change based on weekends, holidays, etc.
If mailing your payment via USPS, we recommend allowing 1-2 weeks for standard delivery to ensure it arrives on time. Postmarks do not count – the payment must be received by the due date.
Setting up automatic payments is the best way to prevent late fees. Your bill gets paid on time, every time without you having to remember.
If you do get assessed a late fee, you can request a waiver if it’s your first offense. Just contact the utility billing department to ask for the late fee to be waived. Repeated late payments will not qualify for fee waivers.
Communication is Key
If you are unable to pay your water bill by the due date, communicate that to the utility billing department as soon as possible. Let them know your situation and see if any payment arrangements can be made to avoid service disruption.
The town understands extenuating circumstances happen and they want to help residents keep their water on. But you have to reach out proactively – they can’t help if they don’t know you need assistance.
Accessing Your Account
In addition to making payments, Little Elm’s online billing system also allows you to:
- View your water usage and payment history
- Update account information and contact details
- Set up paperless billing
- Request service disconnects or reconnects
- Sign up for utility billing notifications
You’ll need your account number and PIN from your monthly bill to access your account online. If you don’t have this information, contact the utility billing department at 214-975-0480.
Keeping your contact information up to date ensures you receive important notices about your water service. Don’t get caught off guard by service disruptions or boil notices.
