Audio Visual Technician interview questions
Example: “I would make sure everything is set up before guests arrive, including any equipment I need to use. During the event itself, my priority would be making sure the AV system works properly so everyone can hear the speaker or see the presentation. If there are any issues with the sound or visuals, I would fix them as soon as possible so it doesn’t distract from the event. After the event, I would clean up any leftover cables or wires and put away any equipment.”
Example: “I am very detail-oriented when it comes to my work. I always make sure that everything is set up correctly before events start. This has helped me avoid any issues with equipment during events. Another thing that makes me stand out is my ability to troubleshoot problems on the fly. During one event, there was a problem with the microphone. I fixed the issue quickly so that no one noticed.”
Example: “I would first make sure that all of the equipment was functioning properly. I would then check for any interference from other devices, like cell phones or wireless routers. If there’s still poor sound quality, I would troubleshoot the problem by checking the volume on the speakers and microphones, making sure they’re not muted and testing the cables to see if they are connected properly.”
Example: “If there was a problem with the main audio system during an event, I would first check all of the connections on the board to make sure they were secure. If this didn’t solve the problem, I would then check the cables connecting the speakers to the board to ensure they were also secure. Finally, if these two things didn’t solve the problem, I would call for backup.”
Example: “The most important thing when setting up an event is making sure there are enough AV equipment and cables available so that I can set them up properly. If I don’t have enough equipment or cables, then I may not be able to support all of the needs of the event. In my last role, I had to make sure we had enough equipment and cables for two events at once because one event ran late. I made sure to check inventory before both events started to ensure we had everything we needed.”
