cn conductor interview questions

Train conductors work onboard passenger or freight trains where they perform all operational and safety duties. On passenger trains, they verify that passengers have tickets, monitor onboard activities, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and relay information to the Locomotive Engineer.

When interviewing train conductors, the most suitable candidate will demonstrate a personable nature, alertness, as well as sound knowledge of railway procedures and safety regulations. Be wary of candidates who have low energy as well as poor communication and customer service skills.

  • I recently applied for the train conductor apprenticeship program at CN for the Joffre terminal in Levis, QC. I had a refference that put in a good word for me and was contacted the next day by HR. I already completed 2 online tests (generic IQ test and the locomotive manoeuvre test) that I was told I passed. Next step is an online info session (due to covid) followed by an interview.

I read some similar posts and most of the answers have to do with safety and how you can apply it at work, so this is pretty much be the angle ill go for. Is there anything else that I absolutely need to prepare for? Are the interviews questions behavioral or more standard? Should i need to prepare for really specific questions?
