In my current position as a code enforcement officer, I often collaborate with other city departments to ensure that the properties we inspect are safe for residents. For example, if I notice a property has missing gutters, I’ll call the city’s public works department to see if they can send someone out to fix them.”
Example: “In my last position as a code enforcement officer, I was responsible for writing reports on violations of city ordinances. I would first interview property owners about their violation and ask them if they had any questions or concerns. After submitting the report, I would follow up with the property owner to see if they had any additional questions.”
Example: “I would first read through the code thoroughly to understand it completely. I would then speak with my supervisor about any questions or concerns I had. After this, I would implement the code into my daily routine by ensuring all of my inspections include the new code. If there were any violations, I would issue citations for them.”
