The Engineering Co-op—formally the Multiple Engineering Cooperative Program (MECOP)—is a robust, hybrid educational and industry experience for university engineering students, including Oregon Tech.
By participating in the co-op, students in our various engineering majors are guided through their coursework, participate in seminars and engage in two six-month internships with our business partners. The program instills in students a deep understanding of the theoretical and technical aspects of engineering. It also gives them exposure to different engineering disciplines, diverse professional workplace experiences, and state-of-the-art technology.
FINAL INTERVIEW TIPS! (How to PASS a Final Job Interview!)
I personally have only done one panel interview in my life, and it wasnt an easy task. I had no idea I would be meeting with 5 people from the company so I was pretty surprised when I walked into the conference room for my interview. That being said, I also had no time to worry about the panel factor so it kept me moving forward and on my toes. A few things kept me afloat during my interview. The first thing is simple but can make a huge difference, and thats eye contact. Make sure that (if you are close enough e.g. not on a stage in front of an audience of 40 interviewers) you make eye contact with whoever is speaking, whether its to you or to another interviewer. It can be easy to feel like nobody is watching you while interviewers are speaking with one another, and take a glance downward or relax or posture. This is exactly when you should be paying the most attention. If meant for you to hear, listen to what the interviewers are saying! Listen to the details they mention and recall them later if appropriate to show off your excellent attention to detail! This is one simple thing but I think it kept me going during my interview.
MECOP placement interviews at OSU are happening on the 29th and 30th of this month, and I thought this would be a good time to start sharing interview tips and tricks! If anyone has anything to add please reply with what helps you get through an intimidating interview or what gets your nerves settled in general.

“We’ve developed a very strong relationship with the College of Business, and every time we interact with someone from the business school, we walk away amazed at how much of a partnership we’ve built and how cool the students are,” said Larry Beck, a trainer for Mutual of Enumclaw who was conducting mock interviews at Oregon State for the first time.
Added Adidas recruiter Thomas Stuyvesant, also a first-time mock interviewer: “We get a lot of talent from OSU, so it’s important for us to maintain that relationship. It’s about pipelining and building goodwill and preparing these strong students to be successful in their careers. It could pay immediate dividends for us, or it could be down the road.”
